About the Owner

I began taking pilates classes a couple of years after graduating from UConn. During college, I stayed in shape by going to the gym on campus simply because it was convenient. After college, I joined a big box gym, but soon felt discouraged and lost my motivation to work out. I found myself doing the same few exercises every time, before quickly calling it a day and going home. As you can guess, I wasn’t seeing any results and just didn’t feel great.

Eventually, I canceled my membership at the gym and tried taking a pilates class at a small studio. I quickly fell in love with the group fitness atmosphere. I was amazed at how physical exercise could change your entire mood. Endorphins really are the best medicine. I began to look forward to working out. It no longer felt like a chore, but rather, a part of my routine that helped me to feel good physically, mentally, and emotionally. I soon knew that inspiring others to feel the same was what I wanted to do.

Prior to opening Glow Fitness, I was a high school teacher. I used to rush home each day to get to the studio where I was a client, taking hundreds of classes over the course of four years. Soon, I began working as an instructor at two studios, teaching pilates, barre, and HIIT classes. In 2019, I completed my Stott Pilates training and certification in Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts. In 2023 I completed a yoga teacher training program in New Haven, CT.

I hope to inspire all of you to believe in the power of a workout — not to change the way you look — but to change the way you feel: physically, mentally, and emotionally. See you at the barre and on the mat.
